FIVECROWN

Fivecrown is an alternative rock band based in San Diego, California that began in 1999. Christopher Hoffee (singer-songwriter-guitarist), Trace Smith (drummer), and Keith Jones (bassist). Fivecrown had released two albums, "Magnificent 3 a.m.", and the second album "NIAGARA, and All the Pretty Landmines". See the reviews.

The music... The kind of music fivecrown is a mixture of rock, smart power pop and a moodiness that permeates the sound and lyrics that is not a band stuck on repeat.

The Hype... Fivecrown have received a lot of great response from the release of their Magnificent 3 a.m. album. "Giant" is in the Top Ten (#7) in RollingStone.com's Best Unsigned Bands MP3 section. Their new album "NIAGARA, and All the Pretty Landmines" is now available!  "Chinese Surprise" was at #2 in MP3's AAA Alternative. The song Magnificent 3 a.m. has been added to a sports action film called "Miracle Boy and Nyquist". It is about extreme bike extraordinaire Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist. Magnificent 3 a.m. and Americana Deluxe are also featured on CineMOOK Film's "Back to Manhattan", that has won "Best Buzz Award", and is being showcased in the New York International Film Festival.

The Artwork... It's hard not to notice the graphics that Shepard Fairey has done for us. Logan Hicks has done the photo art.

The band broke up in 2002 due to Trace and Keith's need to spend more time with their families and a career that paid more than free beer. Christopher has now created two new music projects; "Atom Orr" and the "Truckee Brothers". Also devoting more time to the label Populuxe Records and engineering and producing at CHAOS Recording.
